Hotel Chancletas is located at one of Nicaragua's premier, unknown beachbreaks. The beach was nicknamed "Boom- Wavos" because of the powerful hollow waves. Surfing 'The Boom', as it has come to be called, always provides some exciting and memorable rides.

Just off shore of the beachbreak, lies an island with a fun left-hand point break on it. The point is a five minute boat ride away and provides rippable lefts ridable up to 15 feet. The Point offers 2 different left-handers that break from high through low tide. There are lots of potential waves to be found in the area
